Protecting your website
It stinks, the world of tech has brought us great things like the internet, messages, video chat and more. Why do I say it stinks? Because along with all the things we love such as sharing pics, keeping in touch with loved ones we also live in a world with spam, junk mail and viruses and the like.
Unfortunately, websites are not immune to attacks. As a result, websites need to be updated and protected just like any other computer program.
But who would want to pick on my site, when there are bigger fish to go after?
Well, that logic makes sense if it hacking a website was done just by people, but it is not. Hackers run programs and the programs just continue to search and search for something they can hack and add that experience to get to the bigger fish or who knows why a computer does such a thing.
So, a couple of tips:
- Use a great website host, I only recommend SiteGround. They provide great services and it is one of the best in the business. They also have without an exception awesome customer support.
- Have a secondary backup plan! Things happen and peace of mind is found in numbers. Updraft Plus is my preferred backup service.
- Keep your website updated with changes to the themes, plugins, (all the stuff that makes your site look so great). There is no do it once and your good forever. For that, we offer a Technical Services Subscription to customers that provide for updates, new theme and plugins each year and much more. To learn more give contact us.
